I've never explored the area behind the parking (now $4) before, but there is an impressive collection of picnic spots with shelters, grills, and uncovered picnic tables along Panther Creek. Before crossing the bridge, there is a nice path for about 1/3 mile of "hiking" and saw a few guys fishing. Area was fairly clean. There are trash receptacles where the parking lot and path to picnic area meet. Also pit toilets. I would bring my own...

I have been camping on this trail since I was 14. Now, 26 years later, I take my wife and kids as often as possible. We take at least 2 trips annually to spend a long weekend enjoying the wonderful wilderness and all of it's natural glory, more if we can find time. Very nice picnic area with timber framed shelters. One even has a large fireplace! These are located behind the parking area. There are also a few picnic tables located near the creek. All are easily accessible to include small children. The creek is slow and low in that area so smaller children can play as well. Nice hiking trail on both sides...

It’s 3.5 miles to the waterfall itself, all downhill going there. The trail is heavily traveled and there are two water crossings with no bridges because of the flood. Anytime after noon you will see at least 50 groups of people. Even at 10 am the place is crowded. Very beautiful, but too many people to enjoy the nature side of it.

Truly loved the park. Multiple sites to access the creek within a half mile of the trail. Picnic tables, bathrooms and ample parking. Wasn’t too crowded, and very easy for two six year olds to have an absolute blast without worrying they’d fall in or get pulled away by any fast moving creeks. Will be returning!
