A true 5-star park with one caveat; the occasional inconsiderate owners. This is a great place for the dogs to enjoy the outdoors and socialize. Nice that it has 2 separate leash-free areas. The secondary area is smaller and geared more for puppies, small, or shy dogs; a nice place to get your dog used to being with other unleashed dogs in a less intimidating atmosphere. The main area is very large, has a drinking station, and bathing area, and has lots of room for your pal or gal to run around and explore in relative safety. The only problem I have encountered is not with the dogs, but the occasional inattentive owners. I get it, you want your dog to be able to romp and roam without a leash, but you still have to pay attention to them. You are not the only dog owner there, and if your dog is being overly aggressive or too rambunctious you need to reel them in. Don't be so self-centered, selfish, or inconsiderate, forcing the other dog lovers to be more vigilant and/or nervous because they have to protect their dog from yours. Sorry to say it, but you and your dogs ruin the atmosphere for everyone else Everyone bringing their dogs here loves them and deserves to be able to enjoy letting their buddies play and socialize without being harassed. I have witnessed people leaving because a dog's owner did not care to be responsible and make sure his or her dog was not making other dogs or their owners feel uncomfortable or fearful. So please if you bring a dog or dogs, enjoy this wonderful place and don't allow them or your selfish behavior ruin the experience for all the others also trying to...
Read moreTook our fur babies here for the first time to play. My Pitt is in training so i kind of waited until others exited the doggie park first to enter.. but seems he did very good responding to other pets leaving and only wanted to play with them..lol. But boy did he have fun along with our older fur baby who is a long haired Chihuahua. He gave out faster and quick. But he is a old man. Lol.. The place had doggie pools and extra bowls for water.. very clean. And it only takes us as dog owners to help keeping it clean and run fresh water for others also..Then we took a stroll around the pond area which was relaxing. King got in the water a little and the ducks wanted to play with him . But with him being only 6 months old and I'm training him and he is Pitt , i wasn't so sure about that so we moved on, but they followed . It was cute. Very nice place Thank you all for a relaxing place and for a place to let our four legged toddlers run there...
Read moreI live in Pinehurst, so this isn't really right around the corner, but it is DEFINITELY worth going. The dog section of this enormous park is divided into 2 parts (one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs @ a 20# limit). We just adopted a smaller pithuahua after putting our 70# pitty down 3.5 years ago, so I can now appreciate having the separate areas. The entire park is clean, well-managed and maintained. There are water pools and fountains in each area and they are well shaded. The thing I thought very interesting is that there is a walking track inside the areas as well...for those who want to get a little exercise in while your fur-baby gets their play time. I'll definitely...
