Not bad. Park is located at the bottom of Torch Lake so it's quick to get there.

The beach itself is subpar and small but there is plenty of room to swim.

Couple tables and charcoal grills for cooking out and eating. Tabkes are under structure or trees. There is a basketball court with no lines otherwise in good shape. There is a sand volleyball court again with no lines nor regulation height but still fun for some back yard volleyball.

There is a swing set two regular and two baby swings. A decent size playground.

There are several benches to sit and stare at the beautiful water.

There is a dock for smaller...

This lake gets a lot of press.. It's clear and beautiful. I will talk about the beach area. Rocky by the shore. Clears up within a few feet. Beach is long and narrow but there is grass for your blanket or towels. Nice playground with picnic tables and grills close by. long pier for fishing, benches for sitting along the beach. Only gets a four star because of the port-a-pottys. They have started construction of a large area where they have just laid out the water pipes. I'm guessing a future bath house. This lake is worth the drive. The quaint town close by is a bonus. Would be difficult for a wheelchair except to go...

Beware! Beach was closed for ecoli when I was there last week. Ecoli ewww :(. There are soo many better swimming beaches around there anyway so I visited a few on Lake Michigan while I was in the area and they were gorgeous and no ecoli! Barnes Park has a mile long Lake Michigan shoreline and it’s not crowded and it’s absolutely stunning :). I also visited the equally gorgeous Antrim Creek Natural Area a bit further north and it has a mile of Lake Michigan shoreline. The Lake Michigan water is so clear and clean and has a sandy bottom and is great for rock hunting, I found a bunch of...

It is a small but beautiful park. It has a picnic spot and a really small beach. But if you walk 15 mins from the park you can reach the Torch Lake preservatory, where you can find a full size beach. The park has a jetty/dock kind of place where people were launching their boats. Docking is 20 USD but the park It self is free entry and park your car. It has a play ground for the children a really clean and functional bathroom.
