We had a great time here, the water wasn't too cold and the BBQ pits were in a good location. Make sure to bring some strong bug spray, and whatever else it takes to combat the mosquitoes and flies!

I love this place! I'm always here on a hot day with nothing to do! Beautiful sandy beaches, great water, bring your floaties, boats, jet skis, dogs, kids!! Only $7 day pass

A nice little campground. Little hard to get to down a very rough road and into the Lake.

Hawk Springs State Recreation Area is a nice, albeit small, State Park on the western shore of Hawk Springs Reservoir. Currently, there are about 10-12 campsites on the southern end, with another 12 campsites that have been eroded away by the lake. These 12 campsites have been closed to camping until WYSP can get them re-built, hopefully in the next few months. Those old campsites are OK to use for the day, but not to camp in. The existing campsites are first come, first served until WYSP is able to catch up from the many changes that have recently happened. It will most likely be in the Reserve America system before the end of the summer.

The lake has walleye, bass (I'm not sure which species) crappie and probably more species, but I'm not sure which ones. Fishing is pretty good from mid-May on, I'm told. While not a big lake, it is very popular with the locals, and lately it has been almost over-run with people just wanting out of the house, mostly...

Nice small lake but easily over run with fast boats and jet ski. If that's what you are looking for it's a good time. If you want to go fishing I would recommend going during the week. Not many camp sites and they fill up fast. The fishing is some of the best I've had all summer. But it's not so good when the lake is busy with fast boats. Will make my next trip...

1/4 mile dirt road with a couple dozen camp sites along it. Each camp site has a picnic table and a fire pit with a grated grill (bring wood or charcoal). Three separate deep well toilet shacks. Boat ramp, playground, and horseshoe pit (bring your own horseshoes). Besides all the amenities, spectacular views around the lake. Great...
