Caution in regards to all the people wanting to come visit the lake from New York and New Jersey as well as many other heavily populated cities across the country, as well as those wanting to visit. Before you come to Beltzsville to visit you must be aware of what is happening here if you plan on vacationing in our woods, river bottoms, or lakes this summer, I think you should know that wolf spiders, fire ants and bedbugs have infested hotels and motels across the area due to dryer than usual weather. The woods will eat you alive with ticks and chiggers. Our lakes are full of gators, fresh water sharks, piranha gar fish and old retirees wearing speedos. Our woods are full of cougars that scream like babies! .... and some of the cougars have been spotted in cheap motel rooms statewide. Our rivers are full of drunks in tubes peeing themselves while the banjo players lay waiting in the bushes. Bobcats and mountain lions have eaten many domesticated animals and possibly some small children. The local coyote population are all 'in heat' and think your wife/girlfriend is hot. So much so that we have paid tournaments to shoot coyotes and hog populations entirely. Snakes..... don’t even get me started on the copper headed rattle moccasins here and the diamond back water cobras. The poison ivy has overtaken all other vegetation. Watch out for the jackalopes; they have been extremely aggressive this season. We have Bigfoot invading our parks and it’s their mating season. Porcupines are "stabbing" small children should they dare to utilize the local playground equipment. Skunks have made their way over and multiplied at unprecedented rates and wander the local campgrounds in packs looking for beer. Murder hornets!?! We’ve got great black clouds of murder hornets, and swarms of giant crickets and even some Pennsylvania grasshoppers. Scorpions have been congregating in massive quantities under rocks, logs, wooden steps, automobiles, and tarantulas are now stealing peoples food and biting like crazy. I’m pretty sure all private tiger owners (we had a jump in them after Tiger King) have released their cats into the streets of our cities and towns. Head lice now fly and we have vampire bats. Oh and no one is vaccinated! Come at your own risk! I hear Florida and Texas are...
Read moreHad an opportunity to visit Beltzville Lake (Lehighton) today here in the state of Pennsylvania on June 5th 2021 at 5 PM.
The park police we met today left me speechless.
As soon as we entered this beautiful park , they pulled us over . I was a driver and my husband set in the passenger seat . Officer looked at him , and asked how many times he smoke marijuana today. My husband replied :”No, I never smoked marijuana”(which is true) . The officer said :”Well, you look high” . This is disrespectful, and I felt that he was making fun of the appearance of my husband. I felt really unappreciated , and I believe , that officers have no right to talk like that to human beings !! His badge number is 694 station 6433 2.Beltzville Lake closes at 8PM . At 7:29 two polices came out to us (including little children) , and said that we need to pack our S**T and get out of here . By using more cuss words , they left, one officer said his name was Anderson really rudely, for...
Read moreBeware of checkpoints, park rangers are always harassing people trying to give them summons by the entrance (mainly on weekends).Make sure all your documents are current (inspection stickers mainly). Don’t let them intimidate you, one told me if I don’t put my back window down he’ll give me an additional summons for my back window tints, well in PA back window tints are allowed and I know mine were legal he was trying to scare me into opening my window so he can see inside. Then he asked me where was I coming from as if that’s any of his business. If you need pause and google something to make sure that what they are telling you is accurate then please do so leave them waiting and do your research, if you need to ask for a supervisor do so. Ppl go to the beach to have a good time not to be harassed by these...
