Love coming here as an out of towner and ruining the fun for the locals. We bbq, throw our trash on the ground, yell and scream, clog up the boat launch etc. It's just the best.
The lake is for everyone, not just you locals. Nothing above is true of my visits in the past, but yes it is true of others. Doesn't matter where you go, there are lowlifes with no respect, but not everyone is bad.
Anyways this lake is awesome other than the bacteria issues. Rangers can be tough and somewhat unfriendly so make sure permits, safety gear, and licenses are up to date. Above all else, respect nature and clean up...
Read moreGreat hike along Beltzville Lake. Start at either the boat launch on the east side of the lake or the parking area off Trachsville Road. Not terribly challenging but there are some narrow paths clinging to the hillsides so be cautious with small children. But in summer there are plenty of spots where you can take a cooling dip in the lake.
Some poison ivy by the trail so knee socks are a must if you’re allergic. Beltzville trails are not terribly well maintained so you may need to clamber over fallen trees but the path is easy to follow and well marked...
