As a First Year Maryville Student from Massachusetts. I am very disappointed with my campus life experience at Maryville: 1. The food on campus overpriced for poor quality. Students have spoken up about it on multiple occasions and they refuse to add other food places because of their deal with "fresh Ideas." The food isn't even fresh 99% of the time. 3. I am an out of state student, so I do not have a car in order to get around. This campus offers no transportation for off campus events whatsoever. So if you want to go to six flags or a Cardinals game, make sure you know someone with a car. 4. On campus events dont have enough gear/food for students either. If you wanna go to an on campus even youre going to have to get there 1 hour - 30 min. beforehand if you wish for food or exclusive items. Im a person who has a small palette and find it very frustrating when they advertise all these food options and only have little to no food left 5. For family weekend, you have to pay to participate. I find this odd because usually its free for college parents. 6. Depending on your major registration is a nightmare. The school doesn't offer enough on-campus classes for students. The only way they're going to solve this is remove Fridays as a day off and take away students 3 day weekends. 7. I also live in Saints Hall. I love the dorm rooms, but theres no kitchen or anything within the dorm hall where you can cook. Instead in the main room/floor by the front entrance of the hall, there's a microwave and toaster oven. Both of them are extremely dirty and not kept clean at all, so dont even try cooking in it unless you plan on buying your own Long story short, I believe any college back in your home state has a lot more to offer than what Maryville has. Its not worth the aggravation.

The college was overall the best decision for me going for physical therapy as it was the nearest PT school near my home. Going here for PT was a fair decision. We learned a great deal, but it was overly stressful for no reason. If we failed a class, it was “you can apply to re-enter the program a year behind your classmates.” Whereas MD students at Mizzou would simply be allowed to take another exam in a few weeks if they didn’t meet requirement grades at first on an exam. It seemed as though the PT program wanted the students to fail. They seemed to enjoy watching the students be in fear of failing and their years of schooling be for nothing - like an abuse of power to watch those under them be instilled with stress and fear. I’m not one who is afraid of work either. This is a general thought from classmates and myself.

However, going to this university for degrees that can be completed else where, seems to be a poor decision. Most others I spoke with were getting a degree at the university at a much higher price than other nearby universities would charge. Several of my classmates freshman year realized this and left for better option universities.

The university is also unapologetically, obnoxiously liberal. They claim to be “diverse” and by that the university means it will not tolerate the idea of conservatism. Very on sided, hypocritical.

This is all my opinion, much toned down for...

Talked to an advisor 3 different times. The first time was a short call had no idea what was going on, okay whatever. Said he would figure things out and scheduled another appointment. Second call his man concern was me attending the webinar and informed me I could only take 2 classes for the first term and a total of 15 credits for the semester. News to me but okay if that's how its gotta be; okay, asked him with less than a month before classes why am I not in any classes yet? He said he would figure it out and get the ball rolling and made another appointment for August 12 to be sure everything was figured out. Third appointment still no classes, and no call. Talked to a different advisor and she told me he would call me back. Finally got from my advisor on the phone 2 hours after appointment where he began with saying I could only take 12 credit hours this semester till I got a gpa for maryville. Towards the end it was now only 9 credit hours for the 1st semester. What! Jack said depending on my gpa this semester I may be able to take 18 next semester. Really? Like I could even remotely believe that after switching 3 times. Bye Maryville! Thanks for leaving me 2 weeks to find a different college to go to! Train your staff with your 622$ per...
