My fiancee and I took our dog here, we weren't even there for 10 minutes... It was a very poor experience. Our dog is a bigger dog (85 pounds, 1 1/2 years old, 1/2 German Shepard & 1/2 saint Bernard) so we appropriately took him into the bigger dog side of the park. Immediately upon entering through the gate our dog (who is VERY friendly and was just so happy to be outside running around with a chance to play with other dogs, minding his own business) was continuously barked at, chased, and aggressively but at towards his face by a smaller dog, mind you this dog should have been in the dog area for smaller dogs, but wasn't; naturally our dog repeatedly attempted to get away from this smaller dog but the smaller dog kept going. From what we could tell there was no owner around to control their dog, and again naturally this smaller dog was provoking aggression from our dog, luckily our dog is controlled and well behaved enough the smaller dog was not hurt. As we went to leave a lady had decided to chime in that we should remove our dogs harness so that the little dog would leave our dog alone.... Ugh it was VERY frustrating and disappointing...

Small dog park. Was a great time at first. My daughter was playing with the dogs another friendly dog owner chatted for a while. We were enjoying it. Until this cranky rude old lady with a poodle shower's up. Rude nasty demeanor and talking about the dog people outside of her little clique. It was still going ok at that point but another member of the clique showed up. She put her hands on My daughter playing with the dogs nicely. She then proceed to scold me about how children must be seated while in the dog park. The rules sign actually says it's only reccomended... Poor kid was just enjoying a chance to run with her pups but our enjoyable family outing was ended by some Karen's. The park itself was ok but the nasty people who occupy make it not...

Volunteer run, supported by donations. Better than most, frequently busy. Bring your (well behaved) dog and have a good time. Occasional muddy puddles after heavy rains. There is a hose outside of the fenced area for filling buckets and water bowls. Gates are currently never locked but there is no lighting. Benches, trees, and a small shelter from rain. Accepts donations of cash and returnable bottles/cans. Donations go towards park maintenance, the city does not subsidize. The space was originally created as a soccer field. The grounds are a former Army Nike missile site that was decomissioned in 1961. Underground missile storage facility is now used as a police firing range. Cinderblock buildings were for security and...
