Miles of beauty away from the humanity. I wish DEP provides the area where someone can pull over on the side of the road and enjoy the reservoir. Water level was very low due to not much rain in the summer. No wonder why meteorologist in NYC constantly mention about much needed rain, you will see the reason why in this reservoir. Driving around the entire reservoir is so much fun.

If your bank account does not support a trip to Norway’s Fjord. Or to Italy’s Lake Como. Or to Cali’s Lake Tahoe. Then Catskill’s Pepacton Reservoir might be a good alternative. Pristine, inexpensive ($0 fee) and don’t be surprised if you do not encounter other human beings for several hours.

Not a lot of facilities and it can be really windy, in which case man-powered boats are hard to maneuver.
