Awesome little hidden trail off rt 31 in Lyons. Drive by here everyday. I stop in every now and then and hike. Its approximately about a 1.5 mile trail up the side of a "steep" drumlin, a short trek on top and then decending around the south end creating a nice loop. A small red pine woodland with a high canopy greets you at the beginning.

Read moreBlue Cut is great! Nice, short loop - usually takes about 30 minutes. There are pavilions farther back that could be nice for a secluded party. The county has a firing range on North-East side, just over the ridge - it's well used especially around 8 or 9 in the morning. I'd recommend avoiding if you or your pups are boom-triggered. There's also a marsh on the South-West side that can get kinda buggy around the trails. Don't miss the super cute fairy trail that the local girl scouts put together!
