10/29/21. Enroute home from a day of walking to the Sargent Ponds, my dog and I visited Buttermilk Falls. The trail to this huge falls is a short one (only 2 min at the most) This falls never disappoints, and today, after all the rain we have had lately, WAS NO EXCEPTION! The falls were raging and beautiful! There are picnic tables here and there with stone fire-pits so you can made a real day of it ,if you desire ( theres also a privy near the roadway) Lots of rock and paths to explore above and below the falls! A truly awesome to see and visit!!! An extra ❌, see if you can find the small wooden cross for “Karl Will Geiger” (10/26/90 to 8/8/03) near the entranceway (near the privy)..:i dont know the story behind this 12 yr old’s memorial cross, wish i did so i could tell you…but I can say, 12 years is too short of a...

You get to see such a variety of scenery all in one place! Calm water, raging waterfall, moss covered boulders, pine needle covered paths, it's Adirondack perfection! And despite clearly being popular it doesn't feel overcrowded even on a...

It's more like the Buttermilk Rapids. I feel a waterfall needs to defy gravity... Fall of a rock ledge or cliff... No matter how big or small it needs to defy gravity even for just a little bit. With that said, this is still a nice place for a quick stop... You can feel the power of the rapids... The flow is pretty intense even in the dead of winter. It's an easy pit stop or even a short hike...
