Short walk for some decent falls. My kids loved it (5 and 3 years old). Great for a family with small children, but beware--there is a spot or two with some tricky footing. I ended up with wet feet, and I carried the 3 year old. . Also, there is a bit of stagnant water and mud along the way, so wear bug repellent or get eaten by mosquitos. The falls are a little over 1/4 mile from the road. I think there is a pull off, but I missed it, so I just pulled to the side of the road and walked to the trail head. It's not easily seen if you are not specifically looking...

Very short walk to the lower falls. Going to the right at the fork should bring you to the top of the falls. We didn't make it all the way to the top because the bugs were terrible, and there were SO MANY huge moose tracks, and not knowing where exactly the trail led, or even if we were on a real trail . So if your sense of adventure, and love of bugs is bigger than mine, go for it. It was slightly uphill, mostly rock river bottom to walk on. The falls themselves, from the bottom, would have been nice if there had been more water, this time through it...

Magnificent waterfall tucked away off of RT 28 just outside of Raquette Lake. There are 2 small pull offs on 28 that will fit at least 2 cars each. The trail to the falls starts behind a metal barricade with a stop sign and is a nice level/easy walk. Follow the trail straight back and in around 12 minutes or so, you will be there. Waterproof shoes recommended but not required. The best views of the falls are from in the creekbed itself. Best viewed in early spring or after a good rain, otherwise it can be a trickle. Wear bugspray in the...

Great! I'd definitely go again! Can park along the side of the road by the entrance. Very easy path to walk and only a slight hill in one part. The falls themselves were bigger than I expected! We went after there's been some rainfall in the area so big waterfall action - very muddy in some parts (almost lost some shoes!). The 4 year old did well but he's well seasoned in hiking for his age, I could see some kids struggling with the mud.
