The ride to see the fall leaves was a disaster. The temps was 87 and real feel was 90. The sun was extremely hot and the sky was hazy. Even if we went up you probably wouldn't see much. Probably due to the Canadian wildfires. The one who collected the money for the tickets said the wait time was 30 minutes.
I waited in line for 45 mins and made it 40% through. It was already about 4 pm for closing time. Instead of collecting the tickets at the bottom of the lift they started to collect from the whole line. Probably so people couldn't get their refunds. That was suspicious.
The wait time for the line using some napkin math was about 1 hour and 30 minutes. That's not taking into account the time crawling your way up and down the chair lift.
At the bar they said the Fat Cow Barbecue ran out of food at the top of the hill. They also ran out of water bottles at the bar. Nobody said anything until I asked. The whole thing was poorly planned with no communication. We ended up leaving without a refund. We weren't going to wait after baking outside for almost an hour.
I would suggest the following. Do some simple napkin math and give people updated wait times. Plan to have more food and water available or just refuse to sell tickets. Be more transparent and let people know what's available before they...
Read moreI don't often write reviews of any kind, but after spending 2 evenings at Christie Mountain with my family this week I felt I had to comment on the incredible customer service, friendliness, and helpfulness we felt from (honestly) EVERY SINGLE staff member we met ... we were all mostly beginners ... they helped us with a great lesson for next to nothing ... the chair operator fell all over himself being sure he slowed down the lift for us at first ... one ski patrol guy skied down a hill with our son to be sure he was doing OK ... the young woman who greets you knew everything she needed to know to be helpful, etc. and was eager to share ... I've worked in sales and marketing for years, and I'd kill to have any company I work for do as well as the team at Christie Mtn. in terms of service. And ... what else, the mountain is nice, if not huge, all areas were very clean, food in the cafe was perfectly good, beer was cold, cocoa was hot, parking was easy. Literally NOTHING not to like. Thanks to you all for being so helpful and friendly. Like most folks who ski here i imagine ... we...
Read moreI have been skiing here all my life and normally would give it a 5 star but to be really honest the ski patrol people are meanies I'm not saying all of them I just mean the 2 that freaked out on me for tapping my sister on her helmet with my ski pole. Then later that day I skied under some tape to get into the terrain park Which I've Seen many people do there and some old lady on ski patrol threatened to take away my season pass. I just think that they are over reacting a little. I have been to other ski hills and I loved all of them, but seriously I mean if they had maybe asked me to stop like 3 times prior to this I would be a little mean too but they just went right at it. They didn't even ask me to stop the first time in a nice way and it's not like I was doing something terrible either just going under some tape for convenience. I hope the ski patrol sees this because you know who you are. In short I LOVE Christie mountain but was really disappointed by the ski patrol today. - A...
