I wish that there were those clip switchers at the end of each obstacle too. There was a moment when I needed help and my friend could have "saved me" but he already clicked onto the middle part around the tree and could not go back to offer help. I had to cut my journey short and missed out on the last few obstacles.
The gloves do not provide enough support. There needs to be protection around all five fingers. I understand that you have a waiver, but when business is successful, I think you should re-invest in peoples' safety.
Or, those of you who are aiming to go sometime, definitely bring your own gloves w/ traction/friction control. (need a good grip)
Also, people should be warned that slipping while harnessed can lead to internal bleeding and bruising, but also note that this is not necessarily life threatening.
The "STAFF" call I think is fairly efficient. They do a good job at helping those in need.
Overall, I had an excellent time with my buddies and had a fun and quite a bit of a challenge. I would definitely like to come back again. Are you open all seasons? Or select times of the year? When we arrived, we parked in the first lot we saw, but we later realized there's another lot closer to the registration office. I do, however, like that as we walked up the trail to the park we were brought into a wonderland of obstacles. It enhanced the excitement factor.
I like how there's one main station which branches off into several obstacle courses. And, two methods of getting up there. (you'll see when you go, unless there are spoiler pics around).
The water fountain was cool too, there is a bottle refilling station. Bathrooms were clean. Lockers are avail. for an additional $3 for anyone who needs to put their belongings away. They aren't THAT big, but you can fit a small backpack, water bottle, glasses, or whatever else you may have loose on you, except for the key. Keep that in a safe place!
They give you a thirty minute training session, which is pretty good. The time on your ticket is when you can no longer go up the main pad to any of the other obstacles. So, it's best to use your time wisely. Our group did a total of three pathways; 1 yellow, 1 green, & 1 blue. There's also a black section which is deadly from the looks of it, but I'm sure is fun if you have the cahonas and balance, and strength to do it.
I STRONGLY recommend you drink water (at least 10 fl oz) between each round of obstacles.
My watch fell off during the obstacles, and one of the Staff found it. But my glasses stayed on and I recommend wearing some for eye protection as you glide through the air/trees. It prevents any debris or pollen from attacking your eyes.
The paths after landing aren't always marked, so use your better judgement.
There's a picnic area which is good for large or small groups.
Be careful; I recommend wearing long sleeves (pants/socks/shirts/full-fingered gloves) to avoid getting far worse battle wounds.
Best of luck! And, have fun exploring your...
Β Β Β Read moreEdit 8 months after bday party. We went again for another birthday party, birthday boy was looking forward to this after my son's birthday party. Glad to see the rod that injured my younger son last year was no longer there. So I changed the 4 stars to 5 stars. They also changed the steps to main platform and had a few other new structures. Nicely maintained and kept up.
We just had our son's 10th birthday party here and all of his friends loved it! My son wanted both daylight and nightlight climb so we had it at 4:30pm. If it's just the trail experience, I would give it a 5 stars. Though it was a long wait at each stop on the platforms for some of them due to the people in front of us were slow, the trails themselves were amazing. We will be back! I would recommend to come when there is less people. Otherwise, depending on the skills of the people in front of you, you may only go on 3-4 trails in the 3 hours climb because once you start the trail, unless the group of people in front of you is less than 3 people, you have to wait for them to finish the trail before you can finish (because each platform can only support 3 people).
I had to subtract a star due to 2 reasons:
OK, so climbing is already fun but when I say this place is climbing up the ladder of awesomeness, I am telling the truth OK, wouldnβt it be yummy wouldnβt it be yummy? Wouldnβt it be yummy as a chip classic lays and barbecue are not going away so why stop there when there could be banana nut soufflΓ© oh, wouldnβt it be yummy put them in my tummy. Wouldnβt it be yummy as a chip so if you feel inspired, hereβs the deal the folks that lay make chip dreams real and if youβre flavor meets the others maybe you can win $1 million so why I like this adventure park at Long Island is because I feel like it takes me on an adventure and a ride like nobodyβs ever taken me on anything before when I latched into the new bungee cord it was so amazing. I was connected to the line and I zipped my way through that line that was on the bottom place I waited, but then I climbed. I climbed higher than I can ever think I would ever climb. If you know the climb you know the climb dine and rhyme. I love doing this type of stuff, especially with you guys, especially on Tuesday, but sadly I didnβt go on Tuesday. I went on Saturday afternoon. It was great. The food there is really good too, but what I suggest is if you are going with a big group of people make sure you guys all match outfits so itβs easier to find each other because there is a whole lot of people here and for good reason this is a fun place to go, especially for the little kiddos and also for the adults because all the levels are equally dust as fun and difficult. I feel like all age groups will enjoy this experience and I sure enjoyed it. I didnβt get stuck on the double diamond one. I was trapped for maybe 22 minutes because my friend sat there laughing at me thinking I was just playing around. I was stuck and I was panicking because I was worried, but my friends kept thinking I was joking. Thatβs the only downtime but thatβs just thatβs not a bad thing for this place. Itβs my friends that are bad. This place is amazing. I suggest get good friends to go with you on that understand when youβre being serious because if your friends understand youβre being serious, you could get stuck like how I did but anyways this place itself is amazing and I highly recommend it to all you adventurous folks out there because I went and Iβm pretty adventurous in my opinion and to be honest, thereβs a lot of things I would say about my friends. My friends are very rude to me and if I would suggest anything is make sure you have a person go with you that knows you very well and cares about your well-being and knows when you are being serious or not my friends donβt take anything seriously they havenβt even applied to proper jobs yet. Thatβs how Iβm serious they areyet here. I am going to this amazing place and you guys made my day find more brilliant than anyone is ever so thank you guys so much for this amazing and experience and I want to put all my money towards this...
