The Waterwheel — Attraction in Town of Beekman

My husband Cliff, and I, along with our goldendoodle puppy Amelia, had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at Poughquag’s newest attraction, the WaterWheel Vineyard. located on Route 7 (Beekman Poughquag Road). After attending Opening Day a few weeks ago, we looked forward to coming back and enjoying a wine tasting and truly taking in the breathtaking views all around. With five various and distinct wines to taste, three of which are grown right at the vineyeard, we each picked our favorite to enjoy full glasses of, in addition to a cheeseplate (for me!) and wood burning oven pizza (for my hubby!). We enjoyed the coziness of the open barn bar/tavern where we sat beneath a spectacular chandelier and chatted with incredibly personable staff and a more than welcoming owner. We actually felt the owner’s immense appreciation for our visit, when in fact, we were the ones grateful for this new venue to enjoy located right in our community. Food and wine were delightful, views centered and relax us, live music enveloped us, and meaningful conversations fulfilled our afternoon. I most certainly suggest a visit if you haven’t already! Hosting my wife’s 50th surprise party at The Waterwheel was a delightful experience enjoyed by all of our friends and family. The owner, Mike Spaccarelli, was so accommodating and knowledgeable. Kristin Hogan, the venue manager, was also a delight to work with and get my event planned. Both team members were genuinely invested in making our celebration special. The rustic charm of the vineyard, as well as the architecture and welcoming feel of the main house created an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. My family and I rented and stayed at The Waterwheel for a bridal shower. The venue and house were stunning! The outdoor area where the bridal shower was held had a beautiful pavilion overlooking a vast paddock. It truly was picturesque! The home and property was filled with beautiful and unique antiques making the venue unique. The bedrooms, bathrooms, living area, and kitchen were spacious and well stocked. It made for a very comfortable stay. The team managing the property were professional and very accommodating throughout the entire process.
