Driving to Albany Google suggested a route that was 4 minutes longer and since I was early, I took this route and found Moh-He-Con-Nuck Nature Preserve. The dirt parking area has an accessible porta potty and signage about the park including a map of the park. The park has two separate areas that are not attached to each other. The main area has the parking and hiking trails and the other area is on the Hudson River and accessible by canoe or kayak but not by the trail system. It’s a real shame that this can’t be connected so you could hike down to the Hudson. It’s always fun when you find a new place to take a walk. If you are driving on River Road in Glenmont it’s worth a stop to take a hike or stretch your legs.

I had had an amazing but short hike at Hollyhock Hollow, and this trail was on my list of places to check out (and 10 minutes away.) Easy to find and plenty of parking on a weekday. And a clean port o potty at the trailhead. But, what a contrast to my other hike. Muddy, buggy, traffic noise, confusing part of trail (you suddenly find yourself in the middle of what appears to be private property with no trespassing signs all around and no clear way out but back), and no pay off. This has potential but it’s just not there.

Has potential but there are parts that have overgrown and not kept up as well as the entrance part. Signage is also challenging for there are parts where no trespassing signs are located but the path continues through it. I turned around when I saw those signs for I didn’t want to mistakenly walk on private property with my doggie.
