EAA Seaplane Base — Attraction in Town of Black Wolf

Came here with family for EAA Airventure. It was nice to see a good size turnout for the crowd and planes. I can't speak of when it's not this week but even with the traffic, that kept everything well maintained and cleaned up. They also had pontoon boats giving rides and tours during the Airventure week, which was nice to get a closer look at some seaplanes and a little back story on things. This is one of the many gems at Oshkosh. Too hot walking grounds? Go to Seaplane base! Very shaded, busses take you there in a short 15 min ride that's scenic actually -(cost is $3.00). Lots of seaplane's anchored there. You can sign up for the pontoon boat ride and they will give you a bit of narration in and around the large pond there. Good food too with lots picnic tables, shade and plenty of portapotties! NEVER, EVER miss this...

Visited Seaplane base 10 years ago and in 2023. Nothing has changed to my surprise. Not much activity at all. People stand around and stare at sitting float planes.... There was 1 small pontoon boat that took visitors on bay tour. The rest of excitement was to wait for an occasional plane to arrive or depart.
