Niagara Landing has always been one of my favorite wineries; however after my most recent visit in May 2019, I will never suggest this winery to anyone! My family and I came in (about 9 of us) shortly after they opened on a Saturday morning and the woman at the register, with short blonde hair, was extremely unwelcoming, maintained a sour look on her face the entire time, and just made us feel as though we were imposing. As we made our way to the tasting bar, two women serving, one with long blonde hair and a nose piercing and another with shorter brown hair, were again awfully unwelcoming, provided NO knowledge of the various wines, and poured only a small sip of wine for us each to taste. The male in the back room serving the cuisine sample was much nicer! I then overheard the brown-haired employee say to the blonde employee something to the effect of, “that’s why I F*%#+_ them over with tastings...” Once I heard that, I asked if there was a problem we caused upon entering the winery, and she was immediately quick to say, “oh no.” She was clearly talking about my family and I for some unknown reason because none of us raised any type of riot or caused any type of problem, and then lied about it to my face when I called her out on it. Due to this unexplainable behavior, I refused to purchase any wine! We were told by others along the trail that the owner is very nice and was shocked to hear about our terrible experience and suggested we contact the owner. Hopefully, the owner will see this review and reconsider who he/she has as the face of their winery, especially during an event, on the weekend, with medium to...
Read moreCalled this morning and was told that they had reservations all day and that for two of us we would probably need to wait 10-15 minutes before we could taste (totally understandable!) When we arrived, the woman who greeted (I use greeted loosely) advised that since we had no reservation, it would be "at least 30 minutes and I can't even tell you when."
We mentioned we would just browse product for purchase and she then gruffly advised that there could only be six people in the store (there were 5). Since there were only 5 we went ahead and made our selections and stood in line to pay.
While waiting, another patron entered the shop and tried to voice a complaint to another associate, who literally began yelling at the patron. Another associate also began yelling at this patron who then became visibly upset and shaken.
Then the third person working, who stated that this is her winery, also began yelling at this patron to get out (though, she was obviously headed out the door at that point) and then after she was out the door, all three mocked the patron for having cried.
Also of note, all three people working had their maks pulled down to their chins at this point, and only two were behind plexiglass. This was very unfortunate to see, as I really like their Rosebud series, but today's purchase...
Read moreNiagara Landing had always been my favorite winery in the area, until this past weekend. I came in with my husband shortly before a large group came in. We were near another couple who had already started tasting. An older woman with short hair and glasses took care of us. The whole tasting lasted about 5 minutes, maybe less because she was rushing us so fast, because I'm assuming she wanted to take care of the large party. I have been to this winery so many times and have always enjoyed the staff and their tasting sizes are decent. Well this woman talked so fast I couldn't understand her and gave me literally a sip of each wine, while continuously looking at the large party like she couldn't wait to help them. I have never felt so unwelcomed. Usually my husband and I buy 4 or 5 bottles of wine every time we go, but not this time. Possibly never again. The other couple near us received triple what we were given and had what looked to be a pleasant conversation with the employee who was helping them. I regret not saying something at the time, but I had such a bitter taste in my mouth I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Maybe you should treat your loyal customers a little better instead of catering to large parties who are only there...
