Boardwalks, wetlands, woods, meadow, a creek, and wild beauty 🌿 Nelson Swamp near Cazenovia is a serene escape — and that long winding boardwalk is the star of the show! This unique area is accessible for everyone to get out and enjoy nature! 🔗 adventuresny.com/nelson-swamp-unique-area-cazenovia-ny #NelsonSwamp #CazenoviaNY #AdventuresInNewYork #ExploreNY #HiddenGemsOfNY

Stopped by for a walk after lunch at Mad Tacos. We parked on the side of Route 20 and walked the trail until we approached an open field. At that point we turned around to return to the car. The trail is well groomed, beautiful and winds through swamp and a wooded area. There are benches along the trail for rest and to take in the scenery.

This is an easy access trail year round. Beautiful year round. Snowshoe in winter, walk it regularly and see something different every time. In Spring this is the best place to see Skunk Cabbage emerge, summer it is shady and invigorating, beautiful fall colors, and gorgeous covered in snow.

Pretty place, nice trails for hiking, biking, running, horse riding, dog walking, or just some general meandering. Remember though, this is a swamp, and the insects are as such. The mosquitoes are absolutley ruthless at certain points in the trails. Enough so to be the cause of people turning back. I was warned by two people fleeing the last time I was there. There is a nice little bridge there over a little creek. I'm not sure about fishing, though they say you're supposed to be able to. I don't like that they no longer have receptacles for dog waste, or any garbage cans at...

An enjoyable, short, and flat walk through some nice Cedar and Hemlock swamps. The actual parking for the trailhead is actually off of Quarry road nearly across from the transfer station. The parking lot and trails are wide and accessible with small crushed stone throughout making it wheelchair accessible. There are frequent kiosks around the trail and a nice overlook where Chittenango creek abuts the park. The trail can then be added to the old railroad bed which is part of the North Country trail. Lots of...
