Looking for a getaway this summer? Then look no further. the Chautauqua institution checks off every box when it comes to getaways If you didn’t know, Chautauqua Institution is a resort but.. not just any resort, come along with me while I show you everything they have to offer. Let's start with their views. I forgot I was in WNY.. I stopped at their plaza first, where there was a vendor market happening. I walked around and checked out the home decor, jewelry and clothing they had there. There's also a few more shops, cafes, and even a library here. I then headed over to chautauqua lake where they have paddle boarding, sailing and even a beach that's next to 3 Taps. Here they have cocktails, mock-tails and have a lakeside patio. They have about over a dozen places to eat and drink here, including a restaurant and lounge inside of the Athenaeum Hotel. They offer a few other places to stay, even a bed and breakfast. While you’re here, they have art and cooking, sports, and music classes and so much more. Speaking of music… how could I forget to mention the amphitheater. They have a wide variety of artists perform and speakers as well. There is something here for everyone. From music, to food, to shopping and learning.. Excellent experience. Great location to enjoy the arts in a beautiful, lake front location. Good ground transportation. One gate fee gets you into most venues. Remember you park at gate so have good walking shoes. I would give it a five if it weren't for food price gouging. $9 hamburgers with no fries. $$4.50 a slice pizza. Reminds me of Carmel, CA. Have not attended any events other than a Jurasic Park showing at the amputheater accumpined by an orchestra for the soundtrack.
