A small museum with excellent exhibits. Our interpreter was delightful and very accommodating. My curiosity was piqued by the displays and conversation; so I left with more questions than when I entered. How did New York (and much of the Northeast) shift from slaveholding as the dominant norm to abolitionist in the span of a single generation? The museum focuses more on the fallout from this shift (and the many schisms) than precipitating factors...but I digress. Perhaps the true litmus test of any museum is whether it inspires curiosity....
