The water was full of seaweed, there was dead fish on the shore, the water was covered in dead May flies, the strong odor of dead fish was overwhelming. The ladies bathroom was filthy and the floor was slimy. The splash pad and playground was good, but the dead fish smell kept us from staying so the kids could at least enjoy that. It was a very bad experience on a very hot day. I grew up on Oneida Lake and have been gone for 18 years. I was excited to go during our visit back and was so disappointed with the condition of the water and the smell. I hope this was a fluke because if it is the norm, it is very disheartening. We have a handicap child in a wheelchair who needs attention sometimes. We had no running water the bathrooms did not work no Sanitationand the outhouse that was on site was unbelievably dirty. Read moreThe concept is nice. Kids park out at the beach. Figured it would be nice. The reality though was disgusting. There is so much seagull feces all over everything and the beach. There is also built up water slime along the beach. It's so thick that even the seagull feces is on that. It's nice to walk around and lovely view, but don't let your kids play in the filth. Also don't have food. The seagulls are relentless. We couldn't walk away from our bags that had food in them. The seagulls were even jumping on the tables and scoping out our bags.
