I would not recommend this park for anyone! My family and I along with some friends went this past summer and we were patrolled as if we were criminals the entire time! first we arrive at our site and park, everything is covered in Goose Poop! no big deal, we're out in nature with a major water way near us, we can look past that! We're attempting to unpack when the park Nazi approaches my husband and demands he move our jeep as 1/2 a tire is on the grass! We apologized and moved the jeep as soon as possible to an off-grass parking spot! Our first night there was fine! The second night was something to be desired. We were sitting by our fire at about 10:15 with our radio on (as low as it could go, as we knew it was quiet hour) and the Nazi came over and YELLED (yes, I mean YELLED) at us to turn it down! We were not being loud, we were not being disrespectful! we were camping in the electric sights so everyone else in our section of the park was inside their campers watching TV! This same night, we decided to run to the restroom before going to bed. Out of nowhere a car drove through the parking lot behind us, along the side of my friends tent and parked ON THE GRASS behind the "store" and sat there with the dome light on. WEIRD! (oh I forgot to mention the first morning we woke up to a 6 pack of mountain dew stolen from our campsite) So because of this we found the car parking on the GRASS to be very suspicious! We waited a little bit and started to get nervous, we had children with us. This person was not getting out of their vehicle and we couldn't tell if they were even alive! We tried calling the emergency after hours number listed on our parking pass, no one answered. WE tried waiting for the park police to come by but they weren’t. So, I went and pounded on the Nazi's camper, told him what had happened and he came out! He went over to investigate while I went back to my site. He went around the “store” stood on his tiptoes, turned around, went back in his camper and that was it!!! We had absolutely no idea what was going on. About an hour later the park police happened to be driving by, this car decided to leave and I approached the park police. Come to find out the car, parked on the grass was the night security guard taking his break!! He was the EMERGENCY contact for after-hours emergencies and wasn’t answering the phone!!! The showers had one temp as another reviewer mentioned, HOT! My children couldn’t shower because the temperature was too hot and you couldn’t breath in the showers because of the humidity trapped in the building. The only positive review I can give this park are the park police! They were kind, efficient and genuinely upset when I spoke to them about our experience. However, my friends and family will NOT return to this camp ground...

We recently booked a weekend stay at Oneida Shores campground. This wasn't our first stay here but will most likely be our last. Upon arrival, we pulled in front of the office and decided to turn around knowing we would be going in the other direction towards the lake. As we were turning around, another car was pulling in but stopped to let us turn around. We were immediately met by the irate campground owner screaming at us telling us it was a one way and we couldn't go that way. So we tried to back up and he screamed at us to stay off the grass. My husband asked where do you want me to go and the owner just threw his hands in the air and went to the other car who was also stopped to check in. I got out of the car to get our reservation as my husband was too upset. Side note, there are no signs marking the road as a one way. I told the owner my son would be camping with us and would be arriving later. He said he would have to park in the parking lot which is quite a walk from our site. The campsite allows two tents per site but apparently only one car although there was plenty of room for him to park there. My son arrived late as he had been attending the NYS Fair that night. He went to the parking lot as instructed and was met with a flashlight in his face and was questioned by police. He then had to carry all of his camping gear from the parking lot to the campsite. My sister and brother in law also had a run in with the police patrolling the campground. While we were camping in tents on the lakefront, they brought their camper and were in the RV side of the campground. They drove down to our site for dinner and a campfire. They left to return to their camper around 10pm. They were met at their site with flashlights in the face. Two cops questioned them separately asking if they were lost and said that they were observed driving in circles. My sister and brother in law explained that they were yelled at earlier by the owner for driving the wrong way so they were just making their way back. The police response was that they don't like strangers here. We have had a couple of issues with the owners of this campground in previous years. One year they yelled at us for putting a tent on the border between two sites even though we purchased both sites. Another year they sold us green wood that would not burn and last year, our site was infested with bees. We keep returning because we love attending the NYS Fair and staying at the lakeside campground is a beautiful and inexpensive way to make a weekend out of it but between the irate owners and the police harassment, it no longer...

I wish I could give this camp ground a 5 and I feel if it were a different part of the season it would have been possible. Unfourtnally we were not allowed to swim in the water due to large amounts of e.coli in the water and we were not informed this at all until an employee told us we had to get out of the water. After researching the area it appears swimming in the water was prohibited for a long period of time. I would think that upon calling and booking our tent site that this would have been a point to touch on. Also the beach had been closed for the season already even though it was the 3nd weekend in August! We attempted to bring the kids to play in the sand at least but the beach was covered in seagulls and gease along with poop and feathers. However the tent sites are really spacious which was great until the spot behind us was filled. The family behind us was very loud after quite hours with music and language. They were asked to quite down on more than one occasion but it did no good! One woman was so intoxicated fighting with someone yelling the f word until almost 2am, their loud barking dog did not help the situation. We did not stay in the 30th section of the camp ground but it looked to be fairly close together with nothing separating you. The bathrooms were in close proximity to the tent section however this was only toilets if you wanted to shower you had to walk all the way to the beach section to utilize those showers. Overall I gave this Campground a 3 because I know if I came on a different weekend or a different part of the season I would have been able to bring my kids to the beach or allow them to swim in the water and it would have been more enjoyable all around. My kids loved the park which was amazing and good for all age groups and our tent site was directly on the water which was very nice and peaceful. Also my kids loved being able to go on the docks and fish. This Campground has a lot of pros and cons but unfortunately I don't think we will chance it and stay...

The campground is great and the facilities are excellent, but the management left a bad taste in my mouth. When we pulled in, we stopped at the check-in office which had an "open" sign. There was nobody inside. We waited for about 5-10 minutes and then called to see if they'd answer. The phone rang inside the empty office. We'd already received a confirmation and a site number so we drove up to set up our camper. There was a truck at the edge of the road so maneuvering was a hassle, so we pulled up through the unit across from ours to back straight in. The second I drove over into the grass, an old man came running out screaming as if we'd run over a dog. He immediately started yelling at us that I was driving into a huge ditch and there was water there and he just could not believe we were about to do that. He then aggressively backed us into our spot. He demanded our registration paperwork, so I showed him the confirmation email. I mentioned we'd be heading out after we dropped off the trailer and he started getting frantic again because he didn't know if anybody would be in our spot tomorrow. That's when I showed him our other confirmation that said we'd be there for 3 more days. Then he said, "Well that's not what I'm seeing on my side." Yet, sure enough, 10 minutes later he found our paperwork. Regarding the parking incident: there were absolutely ZERO signs whatsoever that we weren't allowed to drive onto the grass. We double-checked after we dropped our trailer. Also, I've attached the picture of that "ditch" I drove into. No, it doesn't drop off or get any deeper. It's just muddy. We also fixed any marks we made on the grass. This would've been entirely different if he had CALMLY explained the situation and/or put out even a single sign that said not to drive over the grass between campsites.

Camped with a 32 foot camper. Was difficult backing in for myself and many other people that came in for a full weekend. The campground is very tight, a WARNING to all that come in late or with longer equipment that this campground is very tight despite what they say online, and so tight that vehicles besides campers have to be parked sideways in order to fit at the campsites or in a nearby parking lot. There is no parking on grass allowed. They just paved all the camping loops, including the site pads, which is very nice, And they are still working on the project and will be adding fill soon. The woman that greeted us upon arrival was very friendly, helpful, and had our packet with information right away, including a code to the bathroom that is very close, not like previous reviews they claimed staff was rude, unhelpful, and the bathrooms were very far away. It seems they are making positive changes to the campground etc. dogs are allowed, however must be on a leash at all times they do not allow dogs on a tie-out! The boat launch is one of the best I’ve seen with numerous launch sites. The beach was closed despite it being June and warm out not sure what was going on there.. Overall, four out of five stars, Very nice park.

Location for our camp site was beautiful. We were spot 16 and other then hearing the raceway and boat launch we loved it. This time of year bring Is citronello candles. Beach wasn't open. Camp site ran $25 a night. The confirmation email did not say anything about secure bathrooms or picking up my instruction in an envelope at their camping shed by the bathrooms. BUT you will want to do that if nobody is on duty because it has carpass, map, and keycode for bathrooms. We never did locate showers. We believe they were through a locked door in the bathrooms but could not get ahold of anybody to help locate them. When park is not open for peak nobody is able to be located and using the park phone system leads you to voice mails. We tol walk up path to park office. It's pretty walk, short and paved. On way back we were greeted by an ice cream truck. We did splurge. My kids have never had that experience. The park is like 3 miles from Dunkin, Gas Stations etc... we were able to get would in town for our for. It ran about $6 bundle. All in all not bad little getaway.
