Recent park visit was a complete letdown. It's a shame that the charm of young, helpful, American teens working summer jobs seems to have been replaced by an experience reminiscent of the SoupNazi from Seinfeld. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was made utterly unenjoyable.

We tried to pay $8 to drive down by the water and quickly see what was down by the water, but the booth attendant shut us down, stating that parking was full, so we could not drive down by the hill. He insisted we park at the top and walk down, probably a mile on an incline. I have a knee injury, so walking that wasn't an option. I tried to explain again that I only wanted to drive around and see what was by the water since we had never been there before. Despite offering to pay the $8 parking fee, and NOT park, he refused or could not understand our request. He then called down to his boss on his walkie talkie to say "hi boss, is there any parking? no? okay. Sorry, there is no parking, you can't drive down." He just kept repeating himself rather than listening. I was so frustrated by his lack of comprehension I finally started driving away, to which he shouted, "You can try back in a few minutes!" WHAT!?! The whole thing was so bizarre!

Rockland County taxpayers pay a significant amount of money to live in the area, and we shouldn't be denied a basic drive-through. I don't think that should even be allowed, it's public park. Usually, a normal interaction would be 'sure, let me just let my boss know you're not trying to park, take a look and come back up.' Fortunately, there are many parks nearby with better...

Was a great place to fish and enjoy the weather but very rude employee. I had been fishing all morning and having a great time with it but unfortunately ran out of worms so I left to get some more. I come back to continue fishing not realizing that I had to pay to be there since when I originally showed up at 6:30am nobody was there so I drove ipast the shack. A gentleman that I assumed works for the park approached me after I got out of my work van to let me know that I have to pay or leave. I decided to leave but before doing so I started to look for the next fishing spot to try before I started driving again because I'm not from the area and don't have a clue how to get anywhere from the park not even a couple minutes later the gentleman approached the van and told me that I need to leave now or the police will be called. I tried to explain to him that I'm working on leaving but need to pull up directions before I start driving. The guy then told me that he didn't care and that commercial vehicles are not allowed to be there anyway. I don't know how true that is since I'm not from here but I wasn't the only person there with a ford transit company vehicle. I rolled up my window and the gentleman was still trying to argue with me but I was trying to leave to go somewhere else to park so I could figure out where to go next but ended up just going back to my hotel because that interaction killed my mood to continue fishing. All of this over not having an $8...

This was the worst experience of my life. After paying for parking the guest service have instructed me to go down and park on the down parking lot. As I arrived there there was man who is the boss at the parking lot managing it started humiliating me by saying why did I come there, how should have not come there and I should have park on the upper parking. I replied that I was instructed to go there. However, if there is no parking spot I will go back and park at the upper parking lot but may I please drop off my children and my husband. He replied you ok but was huffing & puffing within 10 seconds of them trying to get out of the car and he was creating a humiliating environment rushing them. As they left the car the parking lot boss come by window and states if I ever come down there again and do this he is going to call the police on me. Then I asked him "what have I done wrong that he is going to call the police on me. He could not answer so I told him why are you treating me differently did not answer. However, few minutes later he came and said he is sorry for his behavior. He just humiliated me in front public and children. He had no wright to treat anyone wrongfully. He absolutely had something against different type of people (he was being racist to me. It is totally unacceptable. I hope someone do something about his behavior. I wish could...
