MX Morningstar Farm — Attraction in Town of Claverack

Don't like to have to give a bad review to a hard-working organic farm with gorgeous produce --one that I had loved to shop at and did so regularly-- but today I was treated so horribly and shockingly by the staff, I will never return. Out of nowhere, I was repeatedly verbally attacked by the cashier for "always" asking for what the place cannot give me (a paraphrase, and a totally false accusation), and when we called the owner in (at my request), rather than ameliorate things, she exacerbated the situation by starting off her response with a further attack of me. At that point, hurt and deeply humiliated, I left. Still upset when I got home (I never before had an experience like this), I called Max, the only one who handled me appropriately and professionally. No gorgeous food is worth it if a customer (and I was an excellent one) is treated like trash! ps....

My favorite farmstand in the Hudson Valley! I don’t live that close by, but I make a point to come every couple of months to enjoy the gorgeous selection that they curate for their farmstand. Not only do they have items from other farms in the area, they have meats and cheeses and bread and staples too. And it’s always gorgeously presented. Top quality, delicious stuff. Stopped by on my way home to Kinderhook on a Sunday, knowing my options for fresh produce would be limited elsewhere and wow, am I gad I did. Unique mix of local and exotic, plus Kinderhook Farm proteins if you can't make it up to the farm itself. Great selection of funghi from Bulich Farms, and good stuff from Bluestar...basically the greatest hits from the Valley in a pleasant presentation and reasonable prices. Compares favorably to Samascott, Chatham Real Food Coop,...
