Spicer Marine Basin — Attraction in Town of Clayton

About 8 years ago, I needed to have serious repairs to a used center console that I had purchased in Virginia. The boat had been re-powered with a new engine a year earlier. That fall, I took the boat to Spicer's to have it winterized, laid up for seasonal storage and detailed in the spring. Dan noticed evidence of water intrusion in the transom, probably related to the engine swap. The few small blisters on the stern could have easily been overlooked or ignored, but he had a surveyor examine the hull and it was determined that the transom needed replacement. Dan was able to make a complete professional restoration and the boat was returned in showroom condition, on-time and under budget. We had just arrived at our Airbnb cottage for a week of bass fishing. As luck would have it on our first day our NitroZ7 had the dreaded 4 beep alarm. We figured our week was shot as we called around and no one would be able to help us for a week or longer. Then I called Spicer marina and they said they would help us and get us back on the water asap. Within one day we were back on the water. They were very friendly, extremely helpful and super fast service. Unfortunately we are not from this area otherwise they would have our boat business. My hectic schedule prevented this long overdue review . At the end of last summer I had the pleasure of doing business with Chris and Dan .

I had traded in my pontoon boat for a Tritoon boat ( pontoon boat with 3 tubes . The entire transaction was flawless and enjoyable.

The boat I purchased was exactly as it was represented and everything that was on the punch list was taken care of as promised.

The service is professional and courteous.

It was a no pressure/ laid back relaxing experience doing business with these awesome folks . The family atmosphere was refreshing and appreciated !

Doing another deal with them as I write this review today .
