Regarding the MTB trails, I guess this place just isn't for me. A lot of the trails were a mess both times I tried riding there. Some of it from logging and some of it from overgrowth and a lot of debris. I've never had so many things wind up in my drivetrain or spokes. I also found it difficult to navigate (cell service can be spotty too, BTW). Between the main trail signs there's not much telling you where you are (even something referring to which lake you're looking at would help) and you likely have miles between signs, so plan accordingly because once you get out there you're in for...

Trails are super fun. I love old school tight singletrack, so I was right at home riding these. Favorites were East Side, Puma Playground, and Shangri La (haven't ridding all of them yet). Plan on 1-2 hours minimum as there is one trailhead. There is, what looks to be, a fire road in some parts that you can jump on if you are out too far and don't want to take the trail system all the way back. Going back this weekend...

I did not realize how much of a difference it makes between fall and summer on these trails. If you time it wrong, you better like insects because they will all come out to greet you. Many ponds and lakes around. Great trails in general. Expansive. Some fun and challenging spots. Almost always no one around. Maps on trails are helpful but snap a photo of one...

Well maintained trails that are clearly marked. Great job Chippewa Off-road Bike Association! Not very many people out on this secluded smooth flowing trail system. Looking forward to riding more this coming season. This is close to our summer vacation spot. Grab your beverages on the way because there are not any businesses out by the trail head.

Wow, these trails are intense... they flow extremely well, theres a good balance of downhill and uphill, with a good amount of obstacles to cross over. These are doable for a beginner if you go super slow, but honestly these are more intermediate and up. There are some fun technical stuff to attack. Some of my favorite trails.
