Stone Valley is a fantastic place to hike, especially if you love waterfalls and scenic views. The trail winds through beautiful forested areas and offers a nice mix of elevation changes—just enough to keep it interesting without being too strenuous.

One thing to note: completing the full loop can be a little confusing if you’re unfamiliar with the area. To make the full circle, you’ll need to walk to the end of the trail, hop onto the road, cross a bridge, and then re-enter the woods on the other side. I likely would’ve missed the full loop if I hadn’t had someone with me who knew the way. If you’re unsure, sticking to one side of the trail is still a great experience.

The shade from the trees was a lifesaver on a hot day, and the fall foliage made the hike especially beautiful. Be sure to bring plenty of water! Even though we packed a good amount, we ran out during the last mile—so plan ahead, especially in warm weather.

Highly recommended for nature lovers, especially...

I joined Kelly Burnham from Flying Lotus Yoga for a "Forest Bath" with my 8 year old son. This was our first time at this trail, and I'm so glad we had the pleasure of experiencing it. The trees, the river, the frogs--all going through various stages of development. Kelly attuned us to our senses in a way that allowed us to enjoy this time in nature a way that we would not have if we had just simply gone on a nature walk. My son was very engaged, which was a beautiful thing to watch. I recommend Stove Valley Trail for anyone who desires to...

The stone valley trail is an amazing place any time of year. I'm lucky I get to enjoy it throughout the year. I really enjoy seeing the seasons change and trying different activities here. I've snowshoed and hiked the entirety of both sides of the trail and I've mountain bikes sections of it. I've seen all kinds of birds, frogs, turtles, and even porcupine cross my path. It is a must see location if passing through. I recommend the side by the fire station for the best views or the side that starts in the village for an...

We came here on a whim. The hike to the river is short and easy enough for young children. The river is very pretty but the fauna were the stars of the show. There were cedar waxwings absolutely everywhere! There must have been well over 30 flying about over the water, presumably eating up insects. The other sight were the fishing spiders. Thousands of spiderlings had just hatched on the rocks and were quite the sight. Might not appeal to everyone but they're easy to avoid and completely harmless.

It's a beautiful trail with lots of water falls, dog friendly and also there's a few spots to set up a small campsite. A friend and I camped out there last night and it was beautiful! Lucy's tub is a great spot to swim if you are a strong swimmer. There is a rock shelf you can sit on and just enjoy the current and cool water :) once you get out past about 5W it gets pretty hilly so be prepared for a rough hike then. Otherwise it is worth the time and effort!!
