If you're in northeast Wisconsin looking to hike or to scout waterfalls, LaSalle Falls is definitely worth the trip. Some reviewers have given this location a low review due to the road that gets you there. But, LaSalle Falls Road is very similar to other gravel roads you find in rural northeast Wisconsin and is navigable with non-four wheel drive vehicles. (The day we visited, we drove our Prius). I'll admit, the first time we encountered roads like this we were concerned, too, but it's okay. Marinette County heavily advertises their waterfalls, however, I think the astute waterfall hunter would be well served by expanding their hunt into Florence County. The trail to the falls is 1.1 miles with reasonable tread. Hikers are rewarded with a worthy waterfall on...

SUV or higher clearance vehicle. See the other notes for parking and road conditions. Area near parking lot cleared out by loggers. Hike to fall more challenging than return due to elevation and hill climbs. Overlook Loop has multiple fallen trees and is not well marked. Would suggest continuing to go to waterfall. Location where the picture was taken. Has the best place to relax and pull out some snacks to enjoy the scene. Meet some wonderful Mennonite family enjoying their picnic lunch at the spot. Surprised, there were not excessive bugs swarming around. Overall, it's a good hike with great view. Quite popular foot...

A nice trail out and back from the falls. We hiked it in some off-and-on rain, so some of it was a little slippery but not bad. I appreciated that it's not all uphill or downhill in one direction, but you get a good mix of ups and downs each way. Good views of the falls and river at the end.

Our group had ages 5-68 years old, and everyone did just fine on the trail. Lots of nice wildflowers/plants along the edges of the trail. We saw wild strawberries, blackberry bushes, columbine, creeping dogwood. Spotted a snapping turtle crossing the road toward the river on our...

The book, Waterfalling in Wisconsin is what set us onto La Salle Falls. The book forgot to mention just what kind of roads it takes to get there. The road is a dirt road shared with ATVer's a fun little road to take with our Sentra. The hike to the falls is varied in terrain and includes some steep hills and areas where of very uneven walk ways. The hike is worth the walk though. Side note: ticks. We pulled over 20 off our dogs during and after the 2 mile round trip.

First, a warning/heads up. The road to the entrance, start of the trail is gravel/sand/dirt so it may be difficult for your vehicle to reach this destination depending on the season. I made it during a wet ground condition in a fwd Audi A4. Otherwise this is a attractive spot with a hike that makes you earn the view, which makes it all the more spectacular. Enjoy!
