Natures Water Park — Attraction in Town of Commonwealth

Our large family group had the pleasure of tubing the Brule River at this park. The day started at a very cool 66 degrees and most of the adults were thinking “hooo boy” this is going to be cold! But, we gamely got in our tubes and set off. The tubes have seats in them so unless you get splashed or tip over, you stay dry. The backrests are super comfortable too. The day warmed up (but never actually got warm) and we had the best day ever. The river is so pristine looking and the trees come right up to the water. The water was clear and not terribly cold. It was a perfect float for small children and we adults enjoyed every minute. You really felt the peacefulness of this river and the natural beauty all around. It did take longer than we expected because the water level is rather low now (I’m sure it changes from day to day due to weather conditions) but we just soaked up the beautiful sights and relaxed and enjoyed. I was with a group today who went on the oxbow tubing trip. Our party did not get notified that there would not be a shuttle after the trip was done, but it was about a 5-10 min walk after. Not a huge deal.

What was more of an issue was what was lacking. This business is just renting tubes to people. They do not provide any assistance at the end of the trip to disembark and when the current is as strong and the water is as deep as it was today, that lack of assistance really is felt. We had people in our party that were able to get us to shore, but if there were any other parties that had issues, they could have been taken farther down river. The waiver that they make people sign is necessary for them to not be liable for anything in these situations because they literally provide zero assistance.

If you want to do this route, you can buy your own tubes for the same cost as renting one from them and you will get the same amount...
