This is a great beginner hiking trail at 1.3 miles one way. Expect some elevation change (hiking uphill) and to get the view you have to climb the tower part way. But a nice morning hike with a view from the tower. Bring micro spikes early winter and spring. Snowshoes in the winter. Happy hiking!

Great hike. Heading up is basically all uphill. It's not too hard, and there are a few spots where it levels off for a bit. The view from the tower is beautiful. It's not too buggy, which was nice. I would recommend the hike and will definitely do it again.

So nice to have a fire tower hike so close to the capital region. This one is a nice balance of a few steep sections but mostly pretty easy, short, good parking. The cab of the fire tower is currently open with open windows so you can actually see, although obviously the views are not as stellar as in the high peaks. But...
