I saw the trail bit scary and slippery, may be thats because I went there after the rainfall. But going up to the dam was a nice experience. You get a great view from there. Also, if you don’t wanna hike but wanna go over to the Dam, there's a road right before the Croton Gorge Park. You can park your vehicle there and have a walk for 2-5 min to the dam. Btw parking is too tight there. If you go on weekends you may have to wait too long and go back and forth multiple times. Anyway, It was a good experience.

Great place to kayak. Choppy water and high winds made today's paddle a bit challenging. But on a calm day, it would be just beautiful. Took the river all the way back until we got to a rocky area which was not passable. Don't forget to pay for parking at the kiosk as you drive in, $1/hour. You can unload at the launch but then must park behind the salt garage in the designated area.

Also known as the Old Croton Aqueduct trail, this trail stretches from the New Croton Dam, through Westchester County, through the Bronx, over the High Bridge, through Central Park and finished at the New York Public Library. It's a historical trail and an great day of hiking, whether you do the whole thing or a small part

Nice easy walk between Black Rock Park and Silver Lake swimming area. It goes alongside the Croton River. Most of the way it is high up with a very steep slope down to the Croton River. Trail is underneath the trees and is nice and shady. Along the trail, on the other side of the Croton River there is a lower gate entrance to the CET elementary School lower race track and football field. Trail appears to be cleaned up regularly from fallen trees along it. Highly...
