Due to a sickness and death in the family, we booked 5 days instead of a week bc they were full (there were empty lots throughout our entire stay). They said there was a rally coming in, and if there was a cancelation, we would be able to stay. Unfortunately, we had the need to stay another week, but one of the staff members was able to find unoccupied sites even though we had to move a few times. They were very nice and accommodating throughout. The park is in a perfect location to explore nyc and surrounding areas. The drive was easy, both getting to the park with a big-rig and a toad, as well exploring with just the jeep. There are many trails to hike, updated playgrounds, and beautiful beach area on the Hudson. Mature trees all over. Families enjoying the picnic areas and ball fields. It was quiet, even with all the people present. There's a Shop Rite very close by in a strip mall. Everything is handy. We had the best pizza at Slice near Lowes. Never saw so many choices! The bagel shops also have good bagels! All in all, even though we were there at a sad time, we took time to explore this historic area. Remember the headless horseman at Halloween? He lives right down the road at Sleepy Hollow. If you're a Revolutionary War buff, heres where Benedict Arnold became a traitor. If I'm ever in the area, I'll be sure to stay in this park. The sites are good and the prices...

Went to the park to camp for a night with a youth mountain bike race team. We are a good sized team with not much funding, so we wanted 2 sites next to each other. We had one camper and a couple tents. Didn't find out until we got there and were signing the contract at check in that you can't put up a tent on a camper site (nothing saying that on the website). There is also nothing on the website to tell you that there are no fire pits at camper sites. We were camping in 40 degree weather expecting to be able to make a fire and get to the sites to find there is no fire pit and you're supposed to bring your own?!...Person at the check in counter told us we could put up a tent on our site so long as we were out of the park early the next morning before her boss came in. I asked if there were any tent sites available because there was no info on the website saying no tents on camper sites. No tent sites available. We put up our tents and had a night patrolman come by and tell us we had to take our tents down and heckled us about who we talked to at check in and stopped us 4 other times that evening as we were just strolling around checking the views from around the park to see what sites we were from, why we had no tent, and told us to leave early or it would be trouble for us and trouble for them. Never camping...

This is a nice piece of land but unfortunately like most things run by Westchester county they over charge and under deliver. The beach is nice for the Hudson river but the old beach building is falling down and has been in disrepair for years. They put up a trailer and porta pottys instead of fixing the building. This place would be a gold mine if they let a third party rent it. Same thing happened with the pool and pool house on the same property. They built a beautiful pool and building about 10 years ago. Now it's closed and crumbling. Third party vendor could have done something nice. Westchester county just run it into the ground. Main office for RV and tent campsites has 3 workers. One on the computer browsing the internet the other on her iPad. Basically a show no work job. $50 a night for RV. $900 per month for long term campers. $15 for the dump station. A few RVs had junk all around them. The dump station had garbage strewn all over. The lid for the dump station is broken and rusty. The maintenance buildings are old brick looks like the CCC days. They are boarded up with again a office trailer for...
