We are avid hikers and explore different locations a few times a month. This is by far one of the best "secret" spots we have discovered. There are numerous trails to explore with various degrees of difficulty. The scenery is breathtaking. Gorgeous forests, maintained trails for both hikers and mountain bikers. Rolling hills, streams, small waterfall cascades, and a beautiful hidden lake with peace and quiet. There were nesting geese and ducks and a small rocky beach perfect for skipping stoned or having an evening campfire. One interesting feature was a very old cemetery hidden among an out cropping of ancient oak trees. The grave stones were clustered together in a small area where the huge trees were growing around the stones, a testament to their long-standing history. The majority of the stones were so eroded by time that they were illegible to read, but it makes you reflect on the history of the area. We spent a time sitting on the bank of the lake shore enjoying the blue jays and robins flying around us. One of the winding paths ventured us down to a wooden bridge overlooking a brook and small waterfall. The forest was moss covered with budding signs of spring everywhere you looked. The dogs enjoyed some off leash time tramping through the puddles and chasing after a ball without any other hikers around. Next time we visit we will come better prepared and pack a lunch. There are no benches, playgrounds, or bathrooms. It's just pure rustic nature. One thing to note is we did discover ticks, so if you visit, I recommend using repellent on your shoes and pants. Also, a good pair of ankle high hiking boots. I made the mistake of stepping into a squishy area, and my sneaker got stuck in the mud. Thankfully, my hiking buddy was able to retrieve it for me. There is ample parking and several places to drive down and park at the different trails. We could have spent hours and hours longer here exploring. There are no trash cans, so please carry in and out, we noticed a few prior visitors did not do so and cleaned up after them. Please help preserve this beautiful sanctuary! We will definitely visit many times again in the...

This place is like a maze. When I first visited this place I had my dog with me, and did not know the original use of this place was horseback riding. I've only been horseback riding in Pennsylvania. I am used to places like this one used for cross country skiing with how the trails are marked. Walking around the park with my dog, we crossed the path of some horseback riders. I had never been that close to a horse before without a physical structure in the way, and was completely overwhelmed by their stature and presence. My dog and I got a close up, eye to eye contact, view of one of horses taking a break in a fenced off pasture. Probably one of the most unexpected experience...

The Morgan Hill State Forest is a great place to get out into nature and enjoy the fingerlakes trail system. Public fishing for rainbow & brook trout is available at Spruce pond. Hiking from there on the North Country Trail will lead you to the Jones Hill Vista overlooking the Labrador Hollow Unique Area, and ultimately downhill to Tinker Falls. The boardwalk at Labrador Hollow Unique area is also...

This is how i showered while i was at Camp in Morgan Hill State Forest. The water stayed at a constant 60°F the entire time (a cold-plunge or cold ahower is done between 30°F-60°F). This beautiful & private location was directly behind our campsite. The cold showers i took in this waterfall were the best i’ve ever had in my life 💙 #waterfall #waterfallshower #coldshower #coldwater #coldwatertherapy #coldexposure #nature #chillylife
