Attention visitors: While I have enjoyed visiting this preserve numerous times in the summer, I had a scary encounter during my most recent trip. While walking on a path through the wildflower fields near the lake with my mother, a bear charged towards us. Thankfully, the bear realized we were not a threat and ran into the tall flowers next to the lake. Please be aware that late summer through October is bear season in this area, so exercise caution when exploring the preserve.
Overall, I must commend the preserve for its excellent maintenance and breathtaking scenery. It's an excellent location for hiking, but I strongly urge visitors to be mindful of the potential for bear encounters.
