Sweet Meadows Country Home & Garden — Attraction in Town of Davenport

I just moved to Upstate NY and I was searching for a good Nursery and I was lucky enough to find Sweet Meadow. This nursery is amazing all the trees, shrubs and flowers we purchased are doing amazing. The prices are very fair and the quality of all their products are top of the line. It’s a family business and they treat their customers like family. We were interested in getting honey bees we had bought a hive and paid a bee keeper in the next town over for a nuc of bees. Weeks turned into months and still no bees. I happened to be in Sweet Meadow one Saturday and I noticed all the beekeepers excessories they sold. So I asked if they also sold bees. They laughed and said, “Wait we will get George he is the bee guy”. Well not only is George the most knowledgeable bee keeper he is also a great guy. He walked me through the process of taking the bees out of his Langston hive and putting the bees in my Horizontal Hive. The frame size is different so George was a little worried that as new beekeepers we might have issues so on a Sunday morning George came to our house, helped us pick the perfect place for our hive, put the bees in our hive and walked us through the process of feeding the bees till they have established the right amount of honey. Newly obsessed with this fabulous garden center! 🤩 The owner is very kind & offered super helpful guidance with what I was looking for (which is mainly herb/vegetable plants & fruiting trees… and they have a very large selection!) The prices are reasonable & I was happy to learn they refrain from using pesticides/insecticides & instead practice natural pest prevention methods, like using beneficial insects. Planning to return here...

This is a great garden center and a lot more. They have gifty stuff, beer making supplies, local honey, plumbing supplies etc. It started out just a small place but they've expanded every year. Great hanging baskets and other annuals. They also have a great variety of perennials, including shrubs and trees. Everything is very well maintained.
