March 2,2022 Today My dog, Odin and I hiked at Wilderness Park in Deerfield NY! If you’ve never tried this park, you simply must!! We went here twice today…late AM and early PM… VERY NICE PLACE!! ….In AM we were the only ones there (obvious due to no other cars or footprints)…so peaceful and with the light snow falling…it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! Very well maintained , marked and groomed trails… We saw no wildlife except for birds… sorta mad i left my binoculars in my car as there was an odd couple of birds “singing” along the trailway!( I guess I m a bit of a curious birdwatcher) On our PM walk, there WERE other people there…but we never saw or heard them AT ALL! Such a nice park!! Big and quiet…lots of trails to explore! We had a wonderful walk and workout! Many thanks to whomever is responsible for the planning, care and upkeep of this park…JOB...

Beautiful park. Super spacious. Nice ball field. Playground is pretty small, especially in comparison to the size of the park. Same goes for the basketball. But if you're looking for wide open or nice trails, it's your place. But for goodness sakes..... WHY ARE THE BATHROOMS CLOSED?? Especially at a park that's 10-15min min from any kind of publically accessible bathroom. Not to mention the fact that it's hosting multiple hour long softball games. Many accidents narrowly avoided, and I mean VERY NARROWLY. There's no reason for those bathrooms to be locked and no alternative provided. I would've easily given this park 5...

There was at least one graduation party going on when we arrived and the place was very bust however once we got onto the trails we didn't see another person. It was fun to go into the forest and check out the stream. The paths make for a nice walk with easy enough terrain. The forest had some pretty birds and flowers. There were public restrooms and fields for games. All around it was a very nice park for all sorts...

What makes this remarkable park a true hidden gem, in addition to the breathtaking beauty of its trails, is the park's Rainbow Bridge. This special place allows people from all around to honor their beloved pets by leaving their collars behind. This beautiful memorial touched my heart deeply.
