It’s one of the most amazing places to visit for all ages. In order to reach some of the sculptures you should be in shape enough to hike up hills. We have been visiting the sculpture park for generations.

Lori and I went on a totally artistic Adventure on Friday, night we went to East Otto, New York and walked a gloriously illuminated Trail on the hills and in the valley of the Griffis Sculpture Park. The lighting is incredible! I can't believe this happens every year, this is better than any Christmas lights I've ever seen because it is an unguided walk through Meadows and trails and woods, gazing upon the most fantastic sculptures in Western New York, illuminated at Night by this incredibly well-conceived light Show, (orchestrated by artist Doug Sitler) with hundreds of lighted effects upon the trees, the sculptures, the paths & in addition there was this video about some of the things that have happened at the park in recent years .. the 10,000 Maniacs concert a drone flyover the entire park and documentation of the artist Larry Griffis and the installation of one of his sculptures at the Buffalo outer harbor front . I even walked away with a fascinating painting found in the hexagonal gift shop located somewhere on the grounds, painted by Cindi Carlson, it did not have a title but I shall call it...

I was lucky to arrive early on a brisk morning and had the park to myself ! There are two parking lots for this park . The main entrance park is for the main trail system. The other parking lot is for the drive-by sculptures. Both are a must-see. This park is fantastic . My watch recorded 4.3 miles and I’d say I covered roughly 95% of the park . The day I went it was extremely muddy & wet make sure to wear appropriate shoes ! This being said; I’m an avid hiker and the mountain climb up I’d rate as moderate for any leisurely hiker . The climb was most certainly worth it !!! Stellar sculptures and much ground to cover ! Benches are located throughout for sitting . I can’t imagine the beauty of this place in the fall with all the foliage surrounding (I will most certainly be back)! You can easily pay online prior to arriving . Take a photo of the map located at the front entrance . There are maps located throughout the park but they are pretty beat up / hard to read . Park was 99% clean .
