IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN you have got to take them here, especially if you need them to get energy out and the weather is rainy or too hot outside for them to run around. And if you have nice weather, the go-carts are a blast. We got some of the passes they sell and it was cheaper than I would expect and let us do a ton of stuff. I didn’t feel like I was getting gouged on prices like I do at some Door County spots. The place has local owners, a married couple who have young kids own it and run it. They clearly care about giving kids a good experience. We know this only because we met one of the owners when we ordered food. She made our meal and then chatted with us a bit, and you could tell she is a decent human being. The food was much better than I would expect from a fun park, and the price was reasonable. The employees helped us out on the few occasions we needed it and they were polite and professional.
PARENT TIP: Get your kids 60 tokens for 15 bucks and then go sit in the food court area and unwind from the grind of parenting, or if you don’t need the break just play the games with them. They are simpler arcade/carnival-esque games that any age kid can figure out and enjoy. I had fun with them myself. There are more games out by the go-carts and they have a paintball target range and a zip line and a bunch of other stuff, but our kids loved the arcade so much we mostly hung out in there.
Egg Harbor Fun Park gave us a great memory with our kids, that’s always priceless. We will be back next year and every year after. Highly recommend.
PS: To new visitors to Door County I recommend this place over the go-cart park in Sister Bay, Johnson’s Park, I think it’s called. I used to love that place whenI was a kid, but it is currently totally run-down and seems unsafe. The go-carts are older than me and the arcade there looks like it was looted by an angry mob and nobody bothered picking up after the riot. The employees look at you like they want to punch you. It’s like the mail room in that Will Ferrell movie, Elf. (“It smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.”). I don’t like speaking badly of them but i have to be honest, it’s pretty grim. I hope they get it together again someday, but for now Egg Harbor is the clear choice....
Read moreWOW! Never in my life have I had such an abysmal customer service experience. This was our first time visiting Wisconson, and this place was nearby. After spending well over $200 on go-karts and food, one of my kids ice cream was about to fall off his cone after being placed sideways. We politely asked for a paper cup so it wouldn't spill all over the floor. Both people behind the ice cream counter said it would cost $1 for a cup. Really?? By the time this place fleeced another dollar out of us, his ice cream would've been on the floor. When I told them we were trying to avoid them having to mop up a mess, they shruged and replied "we have to mop anyway." I asked to talk to the manager and was told no one knew where "Tammy or Mark" were. Eventually, after cashing in our tickets, a staff person told us that Mark was at the front. When I explained what happened, Mark also shrugged and said "that's on me, people ask for a free cup all the time to get water from the water fountain for their kids or dogs, etc." There was no apology, no consideration of the situation or any effort whatsoever to make things right. We had been planning to stay for another couple hours, doing the mini golf, more go karts, etc. but we left immediately after that. Plus the milkshake I ordered was half melted, dripping all over and tasted disgusting like curdled milk. Between the poor, apathetic service, half the arcade games not working, and the neon signs posted all over the "prize" counter that said "NO EXCHANGES, NO EXCEPTIONS" this is definitely a place to avoid. Plus, the parking lot was nearly empty at 6 p.m. on a beautiful summer day. Clearly other people have been burned by this money pit before. There are dozens of other family-friendly activities and locations in the area with exceptional service and a true focus on family...
Read moreSUMMARY: Family had a blast on June 11-12, 2021. Bought four of the $25 passes (see their website for details) which allowed a good mix of go-karts and mini-golf. Both were fun. The golf is (of course) a better value, but the kids (16 and 14... OK, and the 40-year-old kid too...) enjoyed both the golf and the karts. We also shot a few paintballs, since it was an included option in the $25 passes.
GO-KARTS: On Friday night, we did the $25 6-8pm unlimited go-karts. Really fun. The karts are quick enough to slide a bit around the corners, and there are a few spots on the track where you can pass if you are taking the curves well (and if the kid in front isn't intentionally blocking you at every corner...). The workers are incredibly friendly, and make adjustments to the karts if they see one that is going too slow.
MINI-GOLF: I have loved mini-golf my whole life, and this was a fun course. No crazy, super-expensive decorations - just a well-maintained and diverse course. About half of the holes don't really give you a chance for a hole-in-one (except for an occasional crazy bounce off of a rock, which I got on one of the holes), but the random nature does make it more fun for the players with less experience. The family played twice, and we had fun both times. Side-bonus: hearing the little kids squeal as they launched water balloons at each other in the adjacent attraction (which was another of the options in the passes) made me smile each time I heard the "splat" followed by parental laughter and...
