Lakeview Wildlife Management Area — Attraction in Town of Ellisburg

This is a great place for a day trip - you can take a lovely paddle down Sandy Creek and end up at a beautiful beach in the shores of Lake Ontario. For me, the paddle takes about 35-45 minutes, and it leads through some wooded areas and marsh before depositing you on the beach. The beach itself has some great sandbars you can walk out on and is really fine grained sand. Great for lounging on the beach or making sand castles....

Really nice place to visit. They have a boat launch that is very easy along with a parking lot. There is a placard detailing a battle from the war of 1812 that happened near by. There is a nicely maintained walking path that meanders along the river but has plenty of shade...
