Bock-Harvey Forest Preserve — Attraction in Town of Enfield

It was a gorgeous place to stay off grid but not really off grid. The fire pit and lean-to are a perfect area to camp out and experience the peace and quiet. Close to the “privy” which is awesomely in the open instead of enclosed, complete with a gorgeous view. The shade of the campsite made the hot humid days quite comfortable as well. This is about as close to glamping as you can get while retaining that off-grid on-the-trail ambience. The solar-powered charging, stacked and dried firewood and secluded privy were very welcome touches for an early spring campout. The neighbours (who built the shelter) were very friendly when passing on their own hike, and its thick timber walls (+ our camping kit) were more than a match for the heavy south winds.
