Very wet after heavy rains. Slipped off the stairs near Lucifer falls and tumbled down the rock. Right before the falls I grabbed onto some strangers walking stick and other hikers helped me back up.

I never received the strangers name, she vanished around the corner. Someone said she is a local who used to live in the upstairs of the mill (unknown to the staff). I went to the mill to say something but the door was locked. I left a $50 tucked under the door if you return. You saved me life.

Whoever you are, thank you. I shouldn't have tried to get that selfie and I lost my selfie stick and phone over the falls (if anyone recovers it is a pixel 5,...

State Park with multiple falls and preserved grist mill about 5 miles outside of Ithaca. It is a hike through a gorge, but different from Watkins Glen. Hike is about 4 mile round trip with some pretty steep sections. However, here's a tip. About 1/4 mile in is Lucifers Falls. They are beautiful. Hike to the rim trail Bridge about at the half way mile mark. Cross the bridge and take the rim trail back, or just go back the way you came. Not much else to see otherwise other than some pretty steep hiking through woods. No crowds when we hiked. Don't forget to take a walk through of the mill. Automated...

One of my favorite places to hike. The upper entrance is way better than the lower entrance, in my opinion!! I love hiking the gorge.

Bathrooms on site. Carry in/carry out. Water and vending machines on site. BBQ pits on site. Pay to park, unless it's after 6:30 pm. Camping options available at lower park. Swimming options at lower park (I think). The trails are not stroller-friendly. Some of the trails get pretty steep, and some have many stairs, but I would say if you're reasonably in-shape, you shouldn't...

My friends and I were passing through the area and wanted to go hiking. Robert H. Treman State Park was highly recommended. What an absolutely gorgeous Park. Hiking the Gorge trail, you will see 12 waterfalls, including the 115-foot Lucifer Falls. The trail is perfect for walking and running. Make sure you bring your swimming suit and jump into the swimming hole at the base of the lower falls. There is plenty of parking, restrooms, changing areas, and places to eat a picnic.

During my visit to Ithaca I saw the amazing pictures of this park and decided to visit. But unfortunately it was a rainy week. It was about 5-6 miles away so we still decided to drive up and see the area. The drive was well worth it. The entrance of the park right behind the welcome center there was an amazing waterfall. We enjoyed the view. We hope to return on a better day and go on the 2.5 mile hike.
