Within the first two hours of arriving at Park Station with our dogs to camp, we were told in the office that there was already a complaint that our dogs were too loud, which led to a stressful day and evening trying to keep the dogs quiet. The next morning at 10 a.m. when the office opened back up I actually went and complained myself because of the noise at night by my neighbors which made my dogs want to bark every ten minutes. That being said, after a little short turmoil, we had a great time. The staff were awesome and didnt hold it against me that I was a little wriled up, and the caretaker Butch and I had a few conversations and we got along well and he welcomed us back. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The trail around the lake is kept up magnificently, complete with wood chips to cover the mud and reduce foot strain. They pick up your garbage at your site for you every day, no need to carry it to a dumpster. There are stations set up all around the park with bags and waste baskets for the pups. The fire pits are placed on concrete slabs, and the sites are graveled and flat, if it rains you shouldnt have any problem with water getting into a tent or puddling under. Bathrooms are literally the cleanest I've seen in any park. We went to Letchworth two weeks prior to this trip and their trails were not kept near as well and bathrooms were riddled with bugs and had a funky odor, which is common but only shows how much pride Erin puts into their park. There is always something to do between trails, boating, creeks, the beach, volleyball, fishing etc. I actually felt bad that I went and complained in the first place. I'm about 99.9% sure the dog thing in the beginning was due to other campers discrimination against my wife and I having tattoos, which is sad but I wont hold the park accountable for that. Nice peaceful place for a trip...
Read moreA bit difficult to book a site unless you do it a month or 2 in advance, which no big deal for me. Absolutely gorgeous lake, sites are extremely clean. Playground is nice tho I don't have kids. Nicely maintained walking trails everywhere, garbage taken out every single day, showers and bathrooms cleaned every single day, super friendly staff who would give you their arm if you asked. Lake is massive and beautiful, would fish but wouldn't swim personally although there is a designated swim area. Some of the sites are at an odd angle to back into if you have a longer trailer like myself but nothing a little readjustment won't fix. 30 amp AND 50 amp plugs for those big 5th wheels and motor homes. Super private sites with a concrete pad fire ring and a picnic table. Only downside is the trek up the mountain to get there. Not really under their control but a fair warning to those with heavier rigs. Long steep hill in and out. You've been...
Read moreA perfectly maintained County campground. Small (40 sites) and most all are private (wooded both sides) with picnic table, fire place, and trash cans available at each site that is picked up daily. We had a water access site (kayaking from campsite) with electricity also on site (only a few state parks offer water access sites and electricity). Bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms were all very clean and well maintained. Playgrounds, Beach with concession stand also very clean. Easy access to water spigots all around loop and a dumping station. Taughannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls close by. Also outdoor mall, Corning Glass Museum. Only downfall is very (scary) steep, curvy uphill to get to campground if towing larger 5th wheels and large SUV bus size units) Recommend not coming up Route 224 side and approach it from Breeseport side (Rte 13 to Rte 223 then left up...
