No charge for parking or the beach. Large parking lot. Clean bathroom facilities, which are hosed down and cleaned daily. Small grassy park area with a playground. Too many restrictions on flotation devices. Designated swimming area is a decent size. It goes out quite a distance for someone who wants to swim. Usually there is at least 2 life guards. On some days, I have seen up to 5. You can bring coolers and sun tents. No ALCOHOL. Some days there are park rangers and DEC officials on premises, checking entrance onto the beach. They installed a really nice, heavy rubber mat that leads all the way to the beach. Making it easier to walk then in years past! Beach opens at 10 and closes at 7:30 sharp. No dogs allowed. Plenty of beach to social distance. The sand could use a good raking though. Not many stones on the beach, but, plenty of small broken sticks and drift wood. The first few yards into the water is paved with small rounded rocks. All in all, it is probably one of the better beaches...

Bennett Beach was closed for swimming on my visit. There was plenty of parking available. There was a footbridge required to get to the beach. It was relatively easy walk and they do have mats down on a portion of the sand to make it easier to traverse. Especially if you're pushing a stroller or a wagon, etc.

There were lifeguards on staff, but not at their post, because the beach were is closed. They were in the trailer. Grounds seemed nice and clean. You could tell the water wasn't as clear and aqua blue as typical, so that's probably why it was closed.

Not a bad place to check out if you're in the area. No admission fee. Also no alcohol allowed. Check the rules for the beach on the signage, to avoid issues. Hopefully you catch a day when you can...

I've been before and loved this beach. This time around a little less impressed.

Beach says online it's open til 730pm, we arrived at 440pm-ish and the gate to drive to the parking lot was already closed. So we parked outside of it and hiked across the parking lot.

Bathrooms weren't bad but they closed them a half-hour before the beach closed...which meant since stayed to closing, we had to change on the side of the road if we didn't want to ride home in our suits. (We made it work).

Used tampon applicator on the beach :/

I wish they would put a board walk in between the parking lot and the beach, it would make the walk easier into the beach.

Positive: it wasn't over-crowded today probably because it's early...

Didn't get there until 7:45p, 1st visit. Watched the sunset, see photos! Here's what's special about the place for me: Whitecapped waves that made ocean wave crashing sounds and cliff area shoreline down the shoreline a bit. Plus, other than no salty sea air or seastacks (I'm from west coast Washington), it seems like you're at the ocean! Eeeha! There's a little bar in the parking lot that had live music which added fun for the sunset watching sorts. You could even watch the sunset from your car or from a wheelchair without going on the sandy beach. I'm going back there, it's a special thing to watch the sun set on water. A relatively rare find in the east

Bennett beach is an incredible resource for WNY families. It is 8,000% better and cleaner than Woodlawn and only a slight drive away it. Great, soft sand, clearer water, lifeguards, public bathroom + shower, etc. Lifeguards and park rangers are attentive and reasonable. We have become beach bums as soon as we discovered it, visiting at least once a weekend. The fact that it’s entirely free is incredible and makes it so easy to visit. You will NOT regret this, especially if you have kids. Tons of families, no hooligans, and tons of fun!
