Spruce Pond is always a great place to hike or camp, and the fishing is great in the spring. The pond is stocked with Rainbow and Brook Trout, and I believe their is some natural reproduction of Brook Trout in the pond based on the quality of a few I caught. However, the roads are some of the bumpiest I've ever driven, and the one public porto-potty is always absolutely revolting. Bring a shovel to dig your own latrine of your camping.

Wonderful sight for primitive camping. Be mindful that you need to contact the DEC office for a permit but they are free and take 5 minutes to do. Cute little pond, each site has a fire ring. There's a small fishing pond and some trails. There is a porta potty but at the end of the season it's a tragedy to behold. Some cell service there with spectrum wireless.

Very calm serene spot :) #1, #2 by the pond are flat, the others are slightly slanted and not ideal. The one on the other side of the road looks prime! Norway Spruce all around! North Country Trail just about goes through the campsites :), just go a little ways down the road past the privy through the meadow and you’ll see the...
