Buck Brook Alpaca farm is such a charming place to visit. It's been a family tradition for us for many years now as we always spend Christmas at The Villa Roma.
For a small fee, you can enjoy a one on one experience with their friendly alpacas, or take a few out on a guided tour along the wintery trails. Perfect to soak up all the fresh crisp air. The farm is free to visit, the one on ones have to be reserved ahead of time and paid for. The farm is home for many animals, goat, pigs and you'll often find a few cats following you round as you explore. There's a gift shop on site, which you must stop in to see. They have lots of hand made items, from hats, gloves, to socks and so much more, most made with the fur of the alpacas. Also, They do have soaps and lotions that are made from the milk of the alpaca's, which is the most buttery soft lotions and luxurious soaps you'll ever use. The visit here is worth while, it's a unique way to spend some time with the animals...

Wonderfully clean, with energetic, engaged but also calm and gentle alpacas. I have a two year old who is regularly afraid of just about everything and it was beautiful to watch her burst out of her shell and almost immediately want to pet/feed the alpacas. They were so gentle with her and seeing the joy from this type of new experience was wonderful. We had such a good time that we almost went back the second day we were in the Catskills. Regardless, we would recommend this to anyone who likes animals, has kids or just needs to find an interesting activity...

You are able to see over 150 alpacas (whom the owners refers to each by name) and the kids can feed them. These animals are docile and gentle, perfect for even the most apprehensive visitor. The grounds are also very clean and well maintained with grass, flowers and trees which makes the whole experience feel even more inviting. Though the tour is free, I assume the gift shop (which is packed with lovely alpaca wool gifts and souvenirs) is where the farm generates their income. Well worth adding to...
