Balloons Over Letchworth — Attraction in Town of Genesee Falls

We had the best experience with our pilot Lance on a beautiful evening flight. The crew was great making sure to take photos of us in the basket before we took off and then Lance was great explaining the four rules and making sure we all understood what was expected of us as well. We took off and just lingered along the trees by the launch site and then we were up and over and Lance was able to set it down in the falls to allow the water to take us right over the falls. We floated the gorge and then climbed and floated out over the Perry entrance where we could make out the Rochester skyline, windmills on the horizon and we even saw another balloon off in the distance. We were fortunate enough to launch with two other balloons and found someone from the other balloon to swap photos with which was great. We were able to also see deer running in the fields and Lance was able to fly us over the train and a sea plane buzzed by us which made for an amazing night. We highly recommend this family run business and we will be making this an annual experience from now on as the park views were simply amazing. We had a simply amazing ballooning trip with Lee! Our party of 4 joined a party of 2 in the big balloon basket of Sunny Side Up. Two other balloons took off before we did and I got great shots of one of them, The Dawn Treader, as we sailed along. We were fortunate to have a perfect evening and Lee was so confident, skilled, and personable. We learned a lot while ooooing and awwwing for the whole flight. The sailing down over the top of Letchworth Park Middle Falls just can’t be described. 3 of us are afraid of heights, but that never seemed to be an issue for any of us. The ground crew headed up by Bethany, with Lucas and Ray, was also phenomenal and just added to the experience with their set up and balloon take down skills and they let any passengers that wanted to help pack up the balloon join in. We also had the good fortune to land gently in the field of the sweetest family farm and the whole family came out to watch and share in our excitement of the ride of a lifetime! My birthday surprise this year was a first ever balloon ride! We were scheduled for the morning flight and awoke early for the ride up. It was a clear crisp fall morning as our pilot greeted us and provided an informative (and entertaining) overview of what to expect.

Not exactly a fan of heights, the liftoff was only slightly disconcerting as I was quickly distracted by the incredible views. We drifted out over the gorge and followed its path enjoying the amazing sights from an entirely new perspective. Our flight varied from treetop level to 4,000 feet as we left the park and headed out over the countryside.

Our pilot pointed out landmarks along the way and engaged with everyone aboard throughout the flight. We touched down on a grass airstrip, bumping along the ground a few times before coming to a rest. Upon our return to the park, we were surprised with a “Champaign” treat and certificates.
