Big Round Lake — Attraction in Town of Georgetown

I have lived on Big Round Lake since 2003. It is a beautiful clean clear lake of 3300 acres and 20 miles of shoreline. The bottom is a mixture of sand and gravel and it has many bays. The recreation possibilities are many including world class fishing, boating, swimming, etc. Beautiful homes (there is a 75 foot setback) cover about 40% of the shoreline. It has some of the most expensive shoreline in Sawyer County. The city of Hayward is about 10 miles away and offer world class events such as the American Birkebiener, Lumberjack World Championship, Fat Tire bike race and the Muskyfest (6 of the world’s largest muskies were caught in surrounding lakes including #1 of 70 lbs). I have family who own a cabin on this lake, and it is very nice. The lake is about 1000 acres, and mostly shallow; the deepest point is 17 feet. Many people come fishing here, and we have caught good-sized pan fish. There is a public landing.
