Visiting Kinderhook Farm was a blast.
Coming from NYC, it was a great experience.
It's so spacious, clear and an obvious sense of tranquility.
With that the only busy-ness are seeing the various animals and an occasional "baa" from the sheeps.
We were greeted by a warm, kind and gentle lady. Lovely person. She gave our party a tour of sorts and explained farm things we city folk did not know.
As a bonus we marveled at some ancient Native American artifacts collected by this gentleman who also works in the farm. He explained the smalls details of how he goes about searching for artifacts.
They are warm people.
Lastly, we took home various meats. They are great! We plan to comeback to replenish our meat supply. We worth the trip.

They also have incredible meat which they sell to some of the nicest butchers in Brooklyn New York where I'm from. We bought some breakfast sausages! we had a great time wandering around the property exploring the veggie garden, hanging out with the geese, watching the chickens -- they have the most incredible collection of chickens who were grazing under a canopy of gigantic sunflowers -- and chatting with the farmers.    Read moreA pleasant working farm. I travelled there to pick up beef suet and shank bones so that I could try some 18th Century recipes. I emailed the store ahead of time and they had my order all packaged and ready to go when I arrived. The drive was along some pleasant country roads. There's even a small airport within an easy walk for small plane owners to take the direct route. If my cooking works out, I'll be a regular customer even though it's a 90 minute...
