Breathtaking views from the top of the tower. Truly worthwhile! You can see the mountains rolling off in every direction. It's really incredible! We went in late September and the colors of the leaves shifting was so pretty. It would be beautiful at any time of the year though! I hope to visit this tower again and again. I'm grateful that it has been preserved. The trail leading to the tower is a little rocky/bumpy but it's a really laid-back walk. Very easy hike. There is a picnic table at the base of the tower. We brought some snacks with us and hung out down there afterwards before making our way back to the...

Short hike? Well, not exactly. There is nowhere to legally park using the Google Map directions, which technically take you to entrance of park but lead you down a dead end dirt road. We parked about 2mi away off N Long Pond at the trailhead (42.7907605, -73.4336475) and hiked up the hill using the signage and trail markers. You actually end up cresting the hill over the dead end road back where you would have had to turn around by car if you use the Google route. Beautiful walk, read all the signs and follow the Blue Marker to...

Amazing hike up to a spectacular view. Keep in mind, there are two ways up to the tower. One is a long but nice hike through the woods from the Fire Town Trailhead right next to Long Pond. However, you can also drive your car directly up to it via Fire Tower Road (although there is no real parking). Either way, it's 100% worth the trip - you can see 50-60 miles in every direction from the top...

What a view! This is a special place, care for it. Not many fire towers around nowadays that let you view from the cab. Thanks to the Friends of GLSP for making it so. A 3-mile round-trip hike mostly along quiet dirt roads. Trailhead: from Grafton center on Route 2 take North Long Pond Road 2 miles to Long Pond boat launch lot and trailhead, see kiosk for info. No park entrance fee is required here.
